As my first semester at NYU is coming to a close — and the procrastination in regards to studying for finals is setting in — I thought I would reflect back on my time here thus far. Gossip Girl is one of my all time favorite shows and Blair Waldorf is not only a style icon of mine but the ultimate role model. For those of you who are also die hard GG fans, you will remember that Blair attended NYU in season 3. Below I have listed the similarites and differences between Blair’s time here as a freshman vs. mine.
Chuck Bass did not send me off on my first day of college…my parents did. Oh and I wore shorts and a tshirt not this gorgeous red peplum Victoria Beckham number.
Speaking of Chuck Bass, I still haven’t found mine yet *sigh*
Yes NYU is quite hipster but you really can find any and all types of people at this “global univeristy.”
I take the subway or walk everywhere not a limo. You can imagine my surprise when NYU did not provide a limo service for us students.
Speaking of walking everywhere. Heels are not the ideal shoe choice. I’m not quite sure how Blair did it.
Her dorm room is luxurious. Mine is nice but certainly not that nice.
I do not have a Dorota but I would definiely love my own. I mean she literally does everything from schemeing to shopping to laundry and bathroom cleaning duties.
I actually go to class while Blair went to black tie galas.
However, people at NYU really do dress up for class.
And group meetings at local coffee shops are SO NYU.
Academics/extracurriculars/internships/social life do indeed take their toll and sleep is not exactly a prioirty.
Finally, Blair will be Blair and while she did not make out NYU to be up to her par, I think it’s truly an amazing place to be.
